My heat surge fireplace heats but does not show "flames". How can I fix it ?

My Amish Heat Surge Fireplace heats up but does not show the movement of the flames. How can I fix this?
Elaine, January 2010
I have one and what little info we received mentions the bulbs which light the flames might be loose. Let it cool off for 5 mintues before you touch the bulbs, and unplug unit. Tighten the bulbs. If they need replacing open light bulb area (hold right and left side of the cover of the light bulbs at the bottom of your firebox and pull straight out). This would be the front of the unit. You can see 2 bulbs in the firebox. Replace with 2 clear chandelier or candelabra bulbs with an E-12 (small) base, rating voltage 120 volts, rating power 40 watts. Hope this helps, or go on line for help. We love our unit, and it has cut our heating bill quite a bit, and it looks like a real fireplace.
