How do I replace pull light switch cord?

The pull cord on my bathroom light switch will
not click int place any more, I guess there is
a spring in the housing which needs to come
apart and be replaced ,any ideas how to do
this, or recommendations for people who would
repair this?

Forget any ideas of pulling the switch apart and tinkering around with it; they're not designed for that.

Replace the whole switch.

An electrician will be pleased to fit a new switch for you - when the switch mechanism falls apart it is not usually possible to repair it - broken cord yes - broken switch generally no.

It's a 20-30 minute job at the most (once he has a switch).

Reach for Yellow Pages or a Trade Directory.

Good luck...
