How can I fix my Potterton Performa 30HE boiler?

My Potterton Performa 30HE boiler is flashing with a fault of flame failure or blocked condensor drain. The pressure is low and I have tried the reset button, but still nothing is working.

Any ideas

Thanks

Hello, my boiler has 0 bar pressure. I bled my radiators yesterday when the heating was on. My daughter went for a shower this morning to find no hot water. I have tried to refill the pressure but turning all valves or one at a time but with no success of increased pressure. When the boiler is on both water and heating and I turn the heating and water on at thermostat the boiler make a continuous noise ,the lights that are on green are the radiator, the power light and the 60 degrees light is flashing, that's it.

Thanks Dave. The condensate pipe was frozen solid. After clearing the ice from that, there was still moisture at the top of the condensate trap - blotted it up with some tissue and used hair dryer to clear up the rest. All working fine now.

My potterton boiler suddenely stopped working. Turned out it was a ice blocking condensor pipe due to severe weather, and the fact that it sits in the loft and hadnt been properly lagged by installer!!

HI I have a similar problem and cant seem to get anyone to come and check due to bad weather, it comes up with a flame failure or blocked condensor, where can I find the condensate tank and the white wire? thanks

Hi all, I have just had the same problem. My condensate pipe backed up with water because of frost outside this initially shut down my boiler as a safety feature. once I released the water by removing the pipe. I tried to re-start my boiler, however the flame would light for around 10 seconds then cut out all together. After reading i needed to spend a few hundred quid on an engineer and pcb board on the web I looked into it further. A white wire goes from the pcb board to the top of the condensate tank inside the boiler, if this wire is still damp on the terminal on the top of the tank from the condensate back up then the boiler still thinks it has a problem and cuts out. I got a hairdryer on it for a few minutes dried it out tried my boiler and it worked. Its worth a try anyway, hope it helps thanks, Dave..

Have a performa 30he that works no problem on heating but on hot water runs for a while then get fault come up that says fan or flue problem?? any ideas

hi, i think this could be a faulty condensate trap or pcb fault, as i have something similar with one of my customers boilers. i found the condensate pipe was frozen, causing the trap to overflow and short the terminals at the top.if this isnt the fault with yours, then the next things will be the white sensor lead on top of the trap, or pcb fault.i would always reccomend getting a gas safe registered engineer in to work on your boiler, as he will have the know how and tools for the job, good luck and post back if this has helped, cheers
