electric's faulty ?

i have a ford mondeo 18L verona i had a new battery about 3 weeks ago and one week ago i had a lot of electrical faults start
1.the electric doors started to click ( not lock )
2.the clock on the dash went of
3.the stereo went of
4.the battery light came on but was very dim
5. the head lights and all went very dim
6. and then the car start to sound like it was trying very hard to keep running then stopped.i got a jump start the car drove about 200yrds then stopped again.i got a tow home and after about 3hrs (as i don't like the car of the drive ) went out and it started fine and drove on the drive but there must be a fault so till i find it thats where it stays

Sams right but the main thing is before you get to involved with it is to take the battery leads off and re connect them firmly(make them grip)all the clock/lights stuff is by the by the by.I reckon you have a poor battery connection,Take the earth lead off and clean the battery terminal and connections with wire brush/sandpaper any abrasive and re connect firmly,it was ok'ish before you fitted the new batt it should be better now.The cold weather is showing up all the faults,go back to the basic's before you assume the worst.Good luck.

check the battery connections to see that they are tight & free of corrosion & follow the main battery cables to where they earth & where they fix to starter motor & the alternator. if they seem ok then you need to check the alternator output, to see if it is charging. if it's not charging you will most likely need to replace it
