Vauxhall combo cyl head ??

I've just aquired a 2005 1.3 cdti combo with an engine thats been run "Hot", it has no compression now.
Is it worth taking the head off & trying a new head, or is the camchain etc a real pain ??
Plan 2 is to just get a new engine straight off??
Does anyone know how the camchain is removed for head removal??
Any info will be gladly recieved, Cheers Bryan

second hand engines are expensive for these corsas about 1k for a low mileage one. been looking for one for ages for mine.
take the head of first, check the pistons for melting (soft pistons) pressure test the head for cracks, watch the gasket, 3 thicknesses, vauxhall only, chain is an absolute pig to set up
