Are uPVC woodgrain effect windows reliable? ?

I am considering having uPVC woodgrain effect double glazed windows installed, but concerned they may not stand up to sun, heat or cold weather conditions. Could you tell me any known pitfalls.

Full woodgrain windows look great, but they scratch easy, if you have a conservatory which is south facing, forget it, woodgrain plastic expands badly, but that all depends on what profile is used! I would however recomend golden oak windows with gold furniture! they are not cheap tho! sorry, thats just in my opinion

We had this type fitted with white interior 4 years ago by Anglian as we wanted something that looked good and that didn't need painting - a bit of cream cleaner on the inside and hot soapy water on the outside they still look as good as they day they were fitted. From a distance they look like stained timber, would not hesitate to have them again.

He does not think much of double glazing - and even less about the sales techniques and half truths...

Good luck...
