Thermal fuses and switches are the most common failure part in kitchen appliances that heat up products. i.e. toasters, sandwich toasters, coffee machines etc. First of all you need to locate the switch or fuse and then carefully plug in the appliance and using an electrical current tester screwdriver, check if this component is indeed stopping the current. However, be careful not to electricute yourself on live components. Thermal fuses can be bought online, I use google to locate the exact item should RS electrical supplies not have it. When refitting if not supplied with spade connectors it is advisable to use a crimp fitting on the fuse as soldering will probably blow it. Dont forget to replace the heat insulation tubes before refitting.
