i m using a colored paper in front of it but it is melting and making it ugly............is there any other way to make the lamp colored?

Something you could try. I give a warm colour to my low energy bulbs by drawing lines on them with a marker pen, the more lines the more colour. or try your local art shop for glass paint or dye. the lighting man at your local rep theater, or good old Ebay. Good luck, dont give up.
