Replacing the Fan from Hoover Convertible Upright?

The fan on my Hoover U4497-900 crack, then flew apart. I bought another fan and have the motor pulled, but I can't budge the pulley nut that holds the Fan on. Is there a trick to this or do I just need to apply more muscle?

Hi Steve, a lot of pully nuts on upright hoovers are left handed threads and need to be turned the other way try this it may be a left handed thread , hope this helps
