how can i fix my plumbing (airlock)?

Can a cold water pipe from the tank in the attic, bringing water to the bathroom sink and toilet ,airlock. the water was knocked off during the cold spell and when it came back i had reduced water pressure in the toilet and no water in the cold tap. They are both fed from the same pipe.At one point while my water was off,the tank in the attic emptied.

Yes you do seem to have an airlock , there are two ways to sort this , 1 is attach a garden hose to your cold storage tank feed and force the air out by turning on the garden hose , the other way is to attch the garden hose and blow through the hose this option is hard to do

yep airlocked water in pipe blow hard up the cold tap if you have strong lungs. Or link the hot and cold taps in the sink together with short hose with tap connectors on hose ends hold them on two people make it easier you hold and end each.
turn on the taps together and the water from the hot tap should force out back to the tank the airlocked water. turn both taps off and release the cold tap hose and try it. Oh allow the hot water to go cold before you try it or you'll get burnt by hot water. that's how I've cleared airlocks.
