Dropped digital camera in creek water, how to fix?
Well, my friend and I were out at the railroad tracks. We were by the sewer/creek drains and my digital camera fell from the ground into the water. It took me a second to realize it but I quickly got out. I accidentally pressed the on button and it was on for a second then turned off. We immediately took the battery and memory card out and ran home. We can't tell my rents because I just got this for Christmas and I just got a talking to last night to not ruin it or I would never get another and they'd lose all respect and trust in me. Anyways, we got home, put the battery and memory card out on a clear spot on my bed, let the water drain from the camera for a minute, then opened all the "doors". We cleaned all the water and all of the camera with q-tips. We let it dry for a second. She turned it back on and it went on for a minute. It stayed on, but the screen stayed black and the lens wouldn't come out. We are opening the doors again and letting it dry. Is it ruined? Is there any other extra ways to help fix it? Should we put it in front of a fan or out in sunlight? Please help ASAP.
