Oops! You did not mention the make and model of camera.
Some cameras use USB Mini-b (5-pin). Of the small USBs which don't have 'micro' in their name this is the one I see the most. But perhaps that is just me.
Another possibly is USB Mini-b (4-pin) which I'm told is used on some Kodaks but I've never seen one.
Another is USB Mini-b (Fuji®) which Fuji sometimes use!
