how to unblock my toilet ?

how to unblock my toilet waste pipe which my niece has filled with facial wipes. I have tried Mr muscle pipe unbloker, hot water and bleach, a plunge and with my bare hands. Unfortunately because we have one of those water saving loos I cannot get my hand right into the waste pipe. Each time we flush the toilet the water comes up to the brim, I plunge it ithe water disappears until the next time. Please help, I am desperate now trying to think how to unblock the toilet.

You may already have seen elsewhere on this site where scores of people (including me) have found the simple solution of using preferably an old-fashioned mop over the head of which you wrap 2 or 3 plastic carrier bags, then over that a larger bin bag. Tie bags with some string around handle so you have a large plunger that seals base of wc. You can try using a lavatory brush similarly wrapped. Remove excess water first with an old tin can then plunge several times untill gurgling is heard.
This is sign that blockage has begun to break. Test with a bucket of water, and if it flows away all is well. Flush several times to help remove any residues. Good luck!

Kath - I had this problem only today and fixed it in 2 minutes - mainly because it happens regularly and I've got the technique...

My similar blockage is not in the toilet itself but in the inspection pit outside - the outlet drain pipe gets blocked with paper debris. Rather than push the blockage further up the drain pipe I pull it back into the pit and suddenly it all drains away.

I tell you this in an attempt to save you time - if you have an inspection pit with a metal cover outside it takes just a few moments to lift the lid and peek inside - then you'll know where to spend your efforts.

In the toilet - if the outside drains are clear - You may try a drain cleaning spring or even a length of garden hosepipe.

Good luck...
