I have the same problem Cathrine. My sofa and two recliners are the type with the pull cord on the outside located under the arm. They are very easy & smooth to open, but murder to close because you have to kick it so hard to close it and get out of the chair. Does anyone know if these type pull cords can be replaced with the trusty handle to recline the chair? We just don't have the strength in our legs to kick these chairs closed. I would just like to kick them out the door at times! Please help me.
