Carriage jammed Brother KH 840?

Hi,
My Brother KH 840 worked fine until I changed the setting from NC to KC because I wanted to try the punch card knitting program. Now the carriage jams all the time - no matter what setting I chose. Has anybody an idea what to do?

The Carriage has jammed on our Brother KH 840 knitting machine and it may be a broken needle causing the jam. How can I un-jam the carriage?

Hi AJH 88,
Have you cleaned the underside of the carriage and oiled the moving parts and the needle channels? There are various levers and sprung 'gates' which guide the needles along different paths according to your carriage settings - if they are dry or dirty they will not function properly and the needles will not glide past them as they should.
If you hold the carriage upside down and turn the change knob and depress the Tuck and Part buttons one at a time you will see which parts move and if they need oiling.
Hope this helps solve your problem
