My kenmore series 90 washer fills with water and starts agitating. The dial never advances so it just keeps agitating until you advance it yourself. I have been looking online and wondering if this is due to a bad timer or is it something else. Is it something that can be fixed fairly easily also.

It certainly sounds like a bad timer. Easy to change, remove screws on each end of the control panel and flip it up to access the timer.
