My wife attempted to use the washing machine unaware that the mains water supply had been temporarily turned off. The machine tried to fill but on detecting no water flow, turned itself off.

With mains water supply resumed the machine still fails to start, on selecting main wash the indicator lights illuminate and an electrical hum is heard as usual but it is apparent no water flows into the machine. I have eased the hose connection at the cold water supply to confirm there is no air lock and normal mains pressure water is available. I have tried unsuccessfully to reprime the ball valve but the drum fails to turn and no water flows.
