i cant get 2nd 4th reverse in my transit van 03

The problem you have is the turret on top of the gearbox. the selector shaft is probably sized. if you put the van in neutral remove the cables and reverse switch wires then remove the selector turret there is about 5 or 6 13mm head bolts holding it in it should all move freely once removed .Once its back together go under the van where the cables enter the plastic housing remove the bottom cover. you will see the cables with spring clip on the end remove the clips will allow the cable ends to be adjusted to the correct length. To do this you will see a hole in the bottom of the gear stick and a threaded hole in the casing insert a long bolt through to align them then replace the locking clips.hope this helps you.

Jim's right, if it only happens when you pull the lever backwards(2,4,rev)sounds like it needs clamped up as the rod isn't pushing forward as you pull the gearstick backwards.Put it in forward gear(1,3)and clamp the bolt on the rod up.Trial and error or a garage,I would go for trial and error.Wet,cold, and dirty, but you will save money!

if it's front wheel drive, have a look at the linkages to the gearbox, they may have come off!
