how do i fix my drill?

i've broken the chuck on my makita 18v cordless drill. can i fix this myself, or do i need to send it to a specialist? if i do, how much should i pay?
the drill is only 18 months old, but i only paid £99 for it on special offer, so i don't want to spend a fortune fixing it.

chucks are usually a pretty standard part. Usually held in with a big screw if you look down the middle you should be able to see it. You should be able to pick up a compatible one or even a Makita original online somewhere for a reasonable price and the change should be simple enough for anyone with a screwdriver
