pfaff 1171 seized up?

Posted 1171 seized from lackof use? last night
Hi ken thank you for responding. I have tried some wd40 it turns slightly easier but can only get it to move by hand. If turned on and plugged it cannot run you can hear the load and it moves very slowly. There is absolutely no cotton jam this machine looks like brand new no dus tor fuzz anywhere no mark on throat plate the entire inside of the machine looks clean enough to eat off. The previous owner bought new in 1987 and used 10 hours then I purchased it off of ebay. I am dissappointed and very would much like to fix this machine.
If I set the hand crank (clutch) to disengage the needle bar it can move slightly better but no much it still won't run smoothly.

What do you think it is and can I use anything from an older very used 1171 to repair this almost new one? My older one works fine it is just worn and has tons of hours on it. It throws a straight stitch in a zig zag and vise versa I sew as a business and sew lots of costumes so the irregularity of the stitch matters a lot in top stitching. Not sure what causes that and if this machine could be a donor to get the newer one working?
thanking you in advance for your help.

Hello Kim,
If the balance wheel does not move fast when you have disengaged the stop motion then the chances are the motor needs replacing, if the balance wheel is not running perfectly true then the machine may have been dropped.
