elderly ford that won't start?

The central locking has been playing up of late and now the battery is dead even though we have put it on charge. Is the battery dead because something has been going wrong electronically or have the electronics been playing up because the battery is weak?

If the battery is more than 5 years old it may well be overdue for a new one. You can get them checked by a battery specialist before you buy a new one just to be sure.

Check your drive belt isn't loose, and that the alternator is charging properly too.
