why do the car headlights go so often?

i have a 1999 ford fiesta zetec. i have found that i am constantly replacing the head lights on the car. sometimes every week. is there anyway to stop this happening? i thought of maybe putting a smaller amp fuse in so that i have to replace the fuses and not the bulbs, but carnt find the corresponding fuse for the lights. please help. thanks

test the output of the alternator 14.5v max, may be getting excessive voltage blowing the bulbs.
you are using latex gloves and AVOIDING the GLASS envelope when inserting the new bulbs
