our back door is closed and locked it is a double glazed upvc door and i am sure the barrel has gone but i can't open the door to change the barrel for a new one.all the keys turn in the lock but will not unlock it any suggestions would be appreciated

What i would do is unscrew the handle take it off and then with a hammer a sharp heavy strike on top of the barrel.This will hopefully cause the barrel to snap in half and break up in two releasing the center black locking point allowing you to put a new barrel in to unlock the door.You will probably need a few attemps at it!Hope this helps.
