how do I replace a toilet siphon?

Hi

I have an Armatige Shanks Freeflo toilet system, which does not always flush when depressing the arm!
sometimes having to try and flush several times?
Do I need to replace the Toilet Siphon?? and are replacements universal, say the replacement one, but do I really need a new one, from what I have tried to describe?, if so how do I go about replacing the old one???thank you

I have just mended mine by cutting out a new diaghram from some polythene. Works fine so far.

I've just removed my freeflo cistern and all that is wrong is a slice of polythene (that acts as a flap valve) has torn. I am hoping I can buy just that slice of polythene rather than having to ditch the entire assembly and pay £27 for a new one. Crazily unsustainable otherwise - and irritating. Could always make one out of a bit of poly sack I suppose...

I'm in the same boat - same syphon! As I understand it you need to also fit a new rubber doughnut washer to the new syphon to prevent leaks. Did you manage to replace your Freeflo? If so what syphon did you get? I'm still searching. My original says Freeflo-4, Ref. 2990/822

the washer inside the syphon will be mashed. If you have a 2 part syphon its easy, if not you have to remove the cistern via the 2 wing nuts underneath then undo the large nut which holds syphon in place
