Vaiilant Combi no hot water?

My problem is slightly different to others prevoiusly mentioned.

I have a vaillant Turbomax combi, I get hot water when the central heating is on, when the heating is off the water is cold and the boiler does not light. Any ideas

The DHW diaphragm has failed. The diverter valve is fine. The diaphram is just a few pounds but the diverter is over £100!
