I am not sure how similar the door of the 1100 is to a 900 but I have just replaced the hinge unit after the lugs broke.
The hinge is screwed onto a bracket inside the body of the machine. This will fall if it is not restrained during the course of removing the hinge. It is therefore necessary to gain access to interior of the machine.
First, disconnect the power. Remove the top by unscrewing the retaining screws at the back and sliding it back.
Push the top of the drum back to make space at the front and prop this in place using whatever is to hand. I used a screwdriver of a suitable length. This will give you access to the area down the front of the machine. Reach down inside on the left-hand side (as you face it) with the right hand and find the bracket around the contour of the door.
Take a crosshead Screwdriver and loosen both screws. Holding the bracket unscrew the hinge. At this stage assistance to hold the door would be useful.
It is now possible to unscrew the interior of the door and ease it off to expose the door latch mechanism.
Reverse the process to replace the door.
I hope this helps.
