shower starts hot but within a minute goes very cold do not know why.

try turning down the temperature control until you get water delivery at nominal showering temperature. Also try setting the temperature knob to the cool setting before switch on time then switch on and as the water flows through adjust the temperature control to obtain nominal showering temperature.
