fridge gases?

panel at back of fridge coming away and sound of dripping although not visibly seeing water. can gases in fridge freezer do any harm if faulty.should i put off at main and leave fridge door open.

Most modern fridges have an auto defrost feature - the fridge box is warmed up a bit every now and again - any small blobs of ice melt and the water runs out the back and is allowed to evaporate naturally. That's probably what you've noticed.
