I've got 1 downstairs radiator that won't heat up. I am trying shutting down the other radiators but am not sure exactly what valves to shut off on each radiator. They are thermostatically controlled so I've turned off the TRV on each, do I adjust the lockshield valve on each too or does simply turning the TRV right down do the job?

Hi, thanks for your reply. I've spoken to others about the sticking radiator pin and having tried most other things I would like to try this but I can't work out how to get the TRV valve head off. It's a Landis & GYR, do you know how I get it off?

might be a pressure problem.. turn the lockshield down by half on the 2 radiators closest to the cold one....

open the lockshield fully on the cold rad and turn the trv up full also....

see if that helps....

take it uv checked there is no air in the cold rad? ie bled the small screw/bolt at the top of the radiator!

TRV is fine - Lockshield if you wish to drain - fully open lockshield on your cold rad.

TRVs very often suffer from the control pin sticking down in the closed position... On your cold rad - remove the TRV head by unscrewing the collar - lift it off and either tap the valve body or gently pull up on the little brass pin with a pair of pliers. Let it run for a while with the TRV head removed.
