How to fix the toe of my boots?

I have a pair of dress boots with leather straps going around the legs. The sad part is my dog got a hold of them and chewed the toe part of it. It still looks like it can be repaired by adding some type of toe tip on it. I took it to a repair shop and the guy never tried to do anything with them. I was so hurt because I had just purchased them about a year ago and only worn them maybe twice. He told me about the tips and when I went back to get the boots about 3 months later, he told me they couldn't be repaired. Help Me Please!!! The toe has a small hole, not chewed off but the sole has a little piece broken off. The boots has black suede pointed toes.
