Error 4 on Lexus RX 300 CD Player?

The CD player on my Lexus RX 300 shows an "Error 4" message and will not release the Cd's despite turning on/off etc.
Can it be repaired/replaced without being ripped off by a Lexus dealer for some extortionate amount?

Hi. I had this error. I took it to lexus and they disconnected it at the back then when they connected the power supply it started to work and has worked most of the time since.
