If you are receiving no sound from the DVD player through the TV, then it is likely that the cable which connects the DVD to the TV is perhaps only carrying the 'video' signal. If the DVD has an HDMI output and the TV has an HDMI input, then this is the best way to connect the two. HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) carries both audio and video. Selecting the appropriate HDMI channel on the TV (once the two are connected) should provide you with both audio and video. It may be necessary to enter the DVD 'setup' menu however, and tell the DVD player that it is to send all info via HDMI. If you have the TV & DVD connected by SCART, then ensure the cables are pushed in tightly - and that if there are more than one SCART socket on the DVD player ensure it is connected to the one labelled 'TV' i.e. the SCART socket that sends the data to the TV.
