AEG 16800 screeches and leaks out of soap dispenser?

When in the main cycle and the drum turns the clothes and stops, my AEG Lavomat turbo 16800 makes a horrible screeching noise (like metal on metal) and leaks water out of the soap dispenser. The cycle finishes, but then there is water all over the floor and the noise is a little more than worrying.

There is a post about a Maytag making a screeching noise when the spin stops, to which there was a reply that belt could be loose, but would that explain the water leakage?

We bought the thing used and it worked just fine for a week or so. It has a guarantee on it, but we just moved and we would have to stick it in the car and drive 7 hours to have the guy repair it. Does any one know if I could fix this myself?

Thanks ck. When we put very little clothes in it, it does it less or not at all... we think. I also read on another post where the water sensor was broken or the tube was clogged so that water leaked out of the dispenser. If that is the case, could it be possible that the drum gets too heavy with water and rub on something?

All I can say is the belt isn't adjustable so its not a belt tension issue.would need to hear and see it to diagnose this one!
