The projector appears to function well - the motor is working fine -the lamp comes on but the gate and spool mechanism doesn't work at all. All the spool belts are correctly set up but nothing is turning. I have tried "spinning" the "feed"? knob on the opposite side to the gate
(under the word "Specto") but that doesn't help.

The model is 8 and the number is 30889

My Specto gearing has siezed and will only turn intermittently. do you have any guidance it has been in store for a number of years.

Hi Gil the motor drive belt has broken or has come off the pully wheels the belt is cheap and easy to replace these can be found on ebay MOTOR DRIVE BELT is what you want to replace just remove side cover which says "Specto" this is quite safe and easy to do

It sounds like your drive belt from the motor to the mechanism has broken.
Take the side off the projector by removing the 4 screws and have a look. Replacements are still available. Look on ebay under "Specto".
