corsa wiper too much travel?

Since the recent snow, the wiper in front of the driver is now hitting at the top and bottom of its travel. I have taken off splines and tried refitting. If I stop it hitting bottom of screen it goes of the windscreen at the top of travel and vica-versa. Not an expert but have looked at the linkage and motor,- nothing obviously loose and motor runs quietly.Took my corsa to vauxhall dealer- didn't have an appointment so couldn't look at my wiper fault but warned that vauxhall won't cover this under warranty as it is my fault! Not sure how I could have avoided snow and ice hitting my car and think Vauxhall might struggle to justify this if we get to small claims court. ANyway, anyone else got any ideas?. If I could restrict the distance the wiper travelled I would have the problem solved. Is there some way of adjusting this?

same problem, put up with it for a few months then last week linkage broke altogether. vx dealership told me not covered by warranty. guy stood beside me at repair reception had exactly same problem with astra again not covered by warranty. cost of my repair £278. i am now contacting watchdog would urge anyone else to do same. its obviously a design fault!

Same problem here, i know it may sound daft but has anyone tried changing the wiper blade, going to try it later, there seems to be a lot of play in mine, it might be throwing it out at the top. I have also been told that it won`t be covered by the warranty, which i think is a bit bad.

I had the same fault...took it into arnold clark and had to pay £238 to get it fixed.
The car in front of mine had exactly the same thing AND the next guy after me also had the same fault.
Wrote to Vauxhall about this last week...still waiting for a reply.

Same problem 58 plate corsa - wiper hits bottom and side of screen. First spotted when I was away from home in Coventry, dealer was familiar with the problem, linkage is prone to bending,, but it is a major strip down to get at it. Coventry dealer was convinced it should be done under warranty. Booked it in to West End in London,, who advised that Vauxhall wont pay out under warranty as its happening too much because of the cold weather
