How can I fix my Indesit D4000 - IN/DW 9 Dishwasher?

My dishwasher works for a short while on any cycle but then blows the main CB in the distribution box. Is this a known problem? If so what component should I be changing? And do you know where I can get one?

I suspect something is either getting wet, or hot, causing temporary failure. There is a large capacitor unit attached to the mains input. Could this be causing it?

I have an old dishwasher Indesit D4000 and the heater element has gone. How much would it be to replace and fit this? Or should I get rid.

Mine did this so I replaced the heater but still no joy- resistance was the same as yours on both the new and old heaters. I have now found that it is the wash cycle that does not run all the time - leading to the heater getting very hot - I presume it is either this or the motor that is tripping the circuit breaker.

Steve, not sure but i have the same problem when it goes thru cycle 4 to 5. Anyway disconnecting the heater allows the program to finish (without heat obviously) Heater resistance is 25 Ohms, but checking resistance between element and heater connection gets high resistance in places. This probably causing leakage current and tripping RCD.

Going to try another heater.
