Kenwood CD Changer malfunction?

I have a Kenwood RXD-F3 shelf system. All works great except for the cd changer. I can put 3 cds in the tray and the tray closes properly. The problem is that as the cd moves in place, a spindle lifts the cd and starts to spin but only for a brief second or two. Then it drops back down and moves to the next cd until all have tried and a "No CD" message appears. I have removed cover and cleaned the laser but it still will not read any cd.

Try cleaning the laser optical block with a moistened cotton bud, do not use any solvent's or cleaning fluid. If this doesn't work then it's a new laser assembly also known as an optical block.

I don't have the answer, but I do have the same problem. Did you ever get it working? If so, please post a response. Anybody else know how to fix this?
