Soot from Harcal 430 Boiler?

Has there been an answer to my question asking if anyone could say what causes soot to come from a Thorn Harcal 430 oil-fired boiler and how this can be remedied?

It probably needs a new nozzle and possibly a static disc (that clips on the front of the nozzle). Parts available from HPS on 01278 455391.
