Can I fix my cell phone after static shock?

Hi,

I was walking on carpet and reached for my HTC Eris and got a major electric shock when I touched it. Now my phone won't power on at all. Is there a way I can fix it or is my phone trashed? Thanks for your help.

Probably fritzed.

You could try forcing it to reboot completely. Take out the battery, leave it for a few minutes, then put the battery back in.
