How can I fix my Glow Worm Swift Flow 100 S.I.T?

My boiler is not providing heating or hot water but the green light shows it is on and running when I switch it on. It is making some noise but I don't know if its the pump or the fan I can hear. Is this something I can tackle myself or should I get someone in? Typically how much should this repair cost?
Thank you.

i reluctantly advise call british gas, they do a fixed fee repair of 193 pounds i nc vat any boiler any fault, they usually get the job done eventually. this is how it works, you call them the call centre take your details, you can tell them the problem, boiler type and even the part and part number required. the engineer will turn up within 24 hrs, unprepared and uninformed about your fault, he will rebook the job and return the next day with the part, somewhere along the way he will try and double your costs by pushing a service contract, but they usually get it fixed the second time round, it is good value as often you cant get a p cb or fan for much less than 200pounds. as long as you stand firm that you want the fixed fee repair only

My advice would be to call in an engineer. if you diagnose it wrong you could be stuck with parts. try and get a recommendation from somebody local who to use. pumps usually have a standard interchangable head costing around £50, if not expect to pay around £80-£150 for one. fans range in price from around £80-£150. plus an hour for the engineer to change the part, rates range from £50-£80phour.
