Do UK Digital TVs work in Australia?

Hi, Have just moved from the UK to Australia with x3 digital TVs. so far I have tried x2 of them (different makes) with no success.
In the TV part of the television (analogue) I can pick up x6 channels but in the digital TV part I can not pick up a single channel.
Should a UK digital TV work over in Australia? do they somehow need unlocking?
Any ideas gratefully accepted.
Regards, Angus

on some digital ready tv's you can change the country settings (not the language settings), though you would have to maybe find a country in its list that is the same standard as australian broadcasts

HI

The plain answer is NO! The UK and Australia have differing standards of PAL. In the UK we have PAL I, in Australia I believe it is PAL B & PALG.

I always say: Don't take your UK set to another country as it is certain it will not work. You could always hook it up to an external source to get Australian Digital TV though.

Good luck with it.
