I had the same problem earlier this year. It is not easy to track down Ryobi spares, but I too eventually found Augmented Agents, and bought the part for the price of £7.97 plus postage and VAT - which, I agree, seemed very reasonable. However, after only a dozen or so usages, the cord again refused to recoil. I rang Augmented Agents expecting they would replace it, only to be told that the guarantee period on Ryobi parts is only three months, and that had already passed. I therefore had to order the same part again - but there had been a price rise in July, which meant it now cost £18.15 plus postage and VAT: an outrageous rise of more than double the previous price for a part that appears to suffer from a design fault!
