bosch wff 1401 won't spin?

Hi guys. I have had the above washing machine for 10 years and never experienced a problem, but yesterday the drum would not do the spinning and would not turn at all for washing nor for rinsing. The washing machine fills up with water and empties ok, but the drum would not turn at all. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Your motor brushes have probably burnt out (mine did after 10years)

cost about £15 for replacements..... has worked for the last 6mnths.......until the water pump packed in yesterday........

Its a bit time consumming, but this is what I did. Remove the drum from the machine, this is about half a days work, all going well. Then drive the drum down to Coopers hill, near Cheltenham. (where they do the cheese rolling).Carry it to the top of the hill, you may need help to do this, if your a weedy freak. I needed help because I had a bad finger! Farmer srumpyJackface helped me, he`s always willing to help. Once at the top of the hill, place the drum on the edge of the hill and support with your index finger gently lift your finger with a forward motion, then stand back and whatch it spin, and boy will it spin. As always good luck.

If you have the room you could try putting a ford cosworth engine at the side of it, you`l find the drive belt don`t reach, but if you ask your postman nicely he will let you have some rubber bands, which if you link them together should do the trick. p.s. I would advise knocking a big hole in the kitchen wall to extract the fumes! Hope this helps~Good luck

you could try putting a doormouse in the drum, with abit of cheese dangling from a string in front of it.

I have the same washing machine and yesterday my machine also stopped spinning. Same symptoms as yours (fills with water and pumps out OK, just no spin). Did you find out what was wrong with your machine ?
