worcester-bosch 24cdi combi boilerwill not heat water?

my boiler heats the radiaters but will not heat water,we cannot get it to fill up its pressure is reading 3 lines above 0 there was a grey cap that fell off which u turned to fill it up tried identical cap off identical boiler but it still would not fill could it be something else?Is there another way to fill it as my radiaters need bleeding and there is not enough pressure in the boiler to do this?

Hi, if you remove the grey cap and turn it with a pair of pliers you will know for sure if it is actually going round. If it still does not fill the outlet of the filling manifold is probably blocked. To clear this the filling manifold will have to be removed which will mean draining the boiler down. Another problem associated with this is, if there is dirt in the filling system then there is usually dirt blocking the pressure guage which will remain static when you start putting water back into the boiler.

you can fill system by connecting via hosepipe from cold tap to radiator you would have to obtain correct fittings / poss fill thru drain off from cold tap
