dell latitude c600 wont connect?

to my netgear ,its finds it but its not connecting .ive got the netgear connected to the desk top computer .but i want the laptop to be wireless .it connects with the ethenet cable ,but not without it .

Sounds like EMI to me. Use a free tool called inSSIDer to find out what WiFi channels are in use locally and then choose one that one that is not in use and is at least two channels way from any that are.

Your machine needs a wireless device and the associated driver.

Navigate to Network Connections and see if there's a wireless Icon - No icon = no working wireless device. Icon with a red cross on it means wireless device present but not turned on.

Right click on wireless icon if you see it and select View Available W Networks - connect to your Netgear.
