I have an Indesit IDL40 dishwasher and can't get it to clean properly, I have rinse aid and salt in the washer and have used many different dishwasher cleaners and different makes of dishwasher tablets but whenever it washes the plates and in particular the glasses come out covered in grainy dirt deposits and have also noticed the water is sometimes milky, Any thoughts?

there are a few things you could try, First take out the arms, the holes become blocked so they need to be washed. Clean the food filter while your at it. The temperature setting may be too low, it should be above 50C. Make sure the dishwasher is connected to a cold water tap (otherwise the detergent will disolve too early for it to work properly). And finally, try a longer wash cycle. =)
