How can I "open" my cash register?

I have a Samsung ER-4900 cash register. I am trying to program it, but no matter what I do it keeps displaying CLOSEd. I have tried to use the Clerk keys, and clear all the memory, but nothing seems to work. I have searched through the whole manual and it says nothing about being CLOSEd. Please help!

Nothing works. I press the "clerk buttons" and I get an error message with a loud beeping. I tried all the A, B, and C buttons, the combinations with numbers and nothing. Could it be there's somthing wrong with the ram?

'CLOSED' on the display means no one is logged on to make sales on the register. you need to use your clerk button to log on. Some versions have clerk letters, so if you have buttons just marked 'A' or 'B' or 'C' etc then they are one touch logons, so just press one to sign in. If you have a button marked CLERK or CLERK# or CLK# then you sign in by PIN number, so try the default: press 1 then CLERK.
