Having tried using a fine needle to unblock the twin headed washer jets on my car I need further suggestions to make them work please!

I suspect that most washer jet blockages are caused by a build up of limescale rather than grit etc. - poking with a fine needle just pushes the obstruction back into the pipework so it ca block the hole again.

I tip hald a cup of Viakal limescale remover into the water bottle and leave it overnight - others suggest Cillit Bang and other cleaners.
