I have a wooden wall clock and the hour hand is loose - how do I tighten and fix?

It depends on the age of the clock. The minute hand on an old clock was held on by a tapered pin. The newer ones use a hand nut with threads. Look at the post that your minute hand sits on, if it has threads it will need a hand nut, if not it will require a tapered pin. You may also need a hand washer under these to keep the hand tight on the arbor. A tapered pin can be picked up from any clock repair shop but a hand nut is harder to find. You may have to take it in to find one that fits.
