No water pressure upstairs but downstairs is fine?

The water from the upstairs tap and toilet has gradually reduced over last couple of days. However, the water flow downstairs is fine.
Any idea as to why this has happened and what can i do to resolve the problem ?

usually happens in a building with galvanized piping.hot water causes the pipes to aquire calcium deposits(rust) in the pipe and when a piece of that busts off it can clog the hot cartridge or the aerators(remove and clean).as far as the toilet, the flush valve might need to be replaced.they too can clog.it really could be a number of things not just that stuff.call a licensed plumber if you do not know what you are doing.stay away from the handyman-they usually dont know what they are doing either.most will provide you with a temp fix and you will be calling a licensed plumber in 3 months to fix what they screwed up.
